Can dogs be carrier for strep throat?
As long as its not to heavy.
Yes, they can. If you keep hold of getting it, wash your hand every time you touch the dog, and don't let him lick your facade.
If that doesn't work, talk to your vet.

Yes! But merely some vets will agree. The theory test is expensive but well worth if it is one passed around your household. This happened to my friend who is a RN and it turns out her Lab be giving it to her kids from playing ball near him and touching his food/water bowl.
