Are leg cramps a possible side effect of Metformin/Gluchophage?

I am on Metformin/Glucophage. I have be getting 2-3 severe legs cramps per night around my ankles, and calfs so severe that I hold to get out of bed and stride around. Could this be a side effect of the glucophage? I have be taking it for six weeks now. Anything that could give a hand the cramps. My legs are still sore. Are leg cramps a possible side effect of Metformin/Gluchophage?
On the other hand, I've be taking Metformin for about 4 years and own had no leg cramps whatsoever. But consequently, I walk every hours of daylight for at least a partially hour, keep my sugar and immensity down, and stick to a low carb, no sugar diet. This might have something to do next to your problem since cramps are not listed, anywhere that I could find, as a side effect to taking Metformin.
Great examine. I, too was on those drugs for a while, and I also have severe leg cramps(muscle spasms.) And come to think of it, I haven't have any cramps at all since getting bad of the oral meds. I take insulin immediately. I didn't put the cramps with the meds until your post.

I am taking Metaformin for PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome) and since I started taking it...my legs feel completely restless and they ache...even when I stroll...or dont walk...any way I still seize the feelings within my legs.
Possible.
However, you should check with a doctor give or take a few your circulation. pain surrounded by the calf area when your legs are rank with the body that go away when your legs are placed under your heart (when you walk from laying down to standing up) could be a sign of circulation problems.
