Why do people who involve heart transplants not just use artificial heart?Artificial heart?
Hank - Believe me, there are tons people out near trying to develop total artificial hearts. Right immediately, we already use devices called VADs (ventricular assist devices) that are similar to artificial heart to support people until they can procure a heart for transplant. They help do greatly of the blood pumping for the weakened heart, but do no replace it completely. You can look up Thoratec or HeartMate to see some examples.
The most promising completely implantable artificial heart thus far is call the Abiocor. The biggest problem with adjectives VADs and artificial hearts so far is that they tend to develop blood clots. Whenever our blood comes within contact with artificial textile, it has a predisposition to clot. Most of the time, the clots are not big enough to encumber blood flow through the VAD or artificial heart, but they can get carried surrounded by the bloodstream and cause strokes. In reality, that is what happen to Robert Tools, the first person to receive the Abiocor artificial heart, who died 5 months after the surgery.

Good question. The human heart is in fact very complex. It is not in recent times merely a pump. It controls your blood pressure which is important. Your internal organs; liver, kidneys, brain, etc. depend on the proper blood pressure to perfuse them properly. If the organs don't achieve an adequate supply of blood, they will commence to fail.
